Retraining mechanics for the new energy future

Jamie is proud to be working on Victoria’s bus fleet as a mechanic – particularly with the shift towards electric busses.

With 40 years under his belt as a diesel mechanic and committed AMWU delegate and HSR, Jamie sees a bright future ahead.

Already, 65 diesel mechanics like Jamie have retrained at Kangan Institute for the new energy future.

And there’s more on the way – thanks to a partnership between Jamie’s union, employer Kinetic and the Victoria State Government.
