After eight dedicated years as an early childhood educator, Yvonne has fought tirelessly for a historic, well-deserved 15% pay rise.

A pay rise that finally recognises the essential contributions of her profession.

And that funding is on the way from our Government – with applications now OPEN for early learning providers.

Marking another step in the journey to fairer wages for this highly-feminised workforce.

And furthering our commitment to quality, universal education.

For educators like Yvonne who love their job, it’s been a long time in the making.

Yvonne walked off the job in 2022 knowing the wages she was getting were simply not enough.

Now, she is celebrating a well-deserved pay rise that will make a real difference for herself and her fellow educators at Goodstart Early Learning Bundoora.

This pay rise will:
💜 Deliver a 15% increase over 2 years
💜 Add on average $100 more a week in educators’ pay packets
💜 Require early childhood education providers to pass on the funding in full to their educators

And as countless educators have said to me, it isn’t just about more pay in their pocket, it’s about being recognised for the hard and essential work they do.

That’s why we’re celebrating this historic win, every step of the way.
