Quality early learning is a game changer for children, especially those who need a little bit more help and support.
So it was fabulous this week to drop into Jindi Family and Community Centre in Melbourne’s north to see how dedicated educators are supporting families in their community.
Jindi is an initiative from Brotherhood of St Laurence, Goodstart Early Learning and City of Whittlesea. It brings together early childhood education and care with targeted support services, like the Free To Be Me program for neurodivergent children and their families.
It’s also home a Maternal and Child Health service and a specialist support worker, who can provide intensive one-on-one advice to parents, and refer out to other specialist services.
High quality, accessible learning delivered by dedicated educators is helping children here thrive.
And bringing more supports under the one roof can help parents provide great support for children at home too.
Thanks to the team at Jindi for having me – and to the children for the wonderful welcome poster!
