Closing the superannuation gap

Great to catch up with leading women in superannuation this week and talk all things women and super!
Too many women retire with too little, after a lifetime of work and care — and we’re determined to change that.
Here’s 5 measures the Albanese Government is delivering to help close the gender pay gap in retirement:
☀️Strong pay boosts for lower-paid workers, including in feminised sectors like early education
☀️12% super from July this year on that higher pay
☀️Super on paid parental leave
☀️Payday super to stop wage theft draining super balances
☀️and our recently-announced changes to the Low-Income Super Tax Offset (LISTO).
The Super Members Council estimates that our LISTO changes alone could see a low-income woman worker raise her retirement savings by $60,000.
With the gender pay gap at an all-time low, and boosts like these to women’s super, we’re putting women’s economic security front and centre.
Big thanks to Senator Lisa Darmanin, Super Members Council CEO Misha Schubert, and Women in Super chair Robbie Campo for taking the time to reflect on these efforts.
Together, it’s a big step forward for working women.
