HUGE congrats to scam-busting Minister Stephen Jones!

As he prepares to leave his Parliamentary career, Stephen leaves us with news laws making Australia the toughest place in the world for scammers to operate.

The ground-breaking Scams Prevention Framework bill passed by the Parliament today:
📞 Requires telcos, banks and digital platforms to protect customers from scams
đź’° Includes a reimbursement process for consumers, if companies fail to prevent scams
❌ Applies significant penalties for companies that do the wrong thing.

This scam-busting agenda has been led by Stephen in his capacity as the Assistant Treasurer and Minister for Financial Services.

But it’s also been a personal passion project, driven by the hundreds of stories Stephen has heard in scams forums around the nation.

This is a remarkable way to conclude a stellar Parliamentary and Ministerial career.

Congratulations also to all those who told their stories, and the consumer advocates who put their case for change.
