Gender equality is at the heart of everything this Labor Government does.
As Australia’s first women-majority government, we know firsthand the importance of greater economic security for Australian women, and we’ve worked to build just that with:
– A historic $700 millon dollar women’s health investment, giving women more affordable and accessible health care
– Wage rises for over half a million women workers in aged care and early education, recognising the critical work in these highly feminised sectors
– Superannuation on Paid Parental Leave coming in just a few months time, and a full 6 months PPL with super on top in 2026.
As Katy Gallagher, Minister for Finance and Minister for Women, has said time and again – economic equality for women should be front and centre, not an afterthought.
We know the benefits of greater economic security for women are felt by everyone, creating a stronger workforce, economy and Australia as a whole.
We have made real progress for Australian women, and a re-elected Albanese Government will keep up that momentum, because we’re focused on building Australia’s future, and that includes building a fairer and more gender equal Australia.
