Mandatory Scams Code Framework to take on scammers

Scammers took $2.7 billion from Australians last year, causing serious pain to victims, and our economy.

But we’re taking on the scammers:

📱 92.3 million scam calls and over 90.2 million scam texts were blocked in Q1.

❌Over 5000 scam websites have been taken down in the last year.

📉 Scam losses were down in 2023, the first time since 2016.

Our Mandatory Scams Code Framework will make banks, telcos, and digital platforms more responsible for protecting their consumers.

Because protecting consumers is at the heart of our approach to tackling the scourge of scams.
