March is Endometriosis Awareness Month.
A time to show support by spreading the word and wearing yellow.
1 in 9 Australian women and girls are affected by endometriosis across the country, with many significantly impacted in their day-to-day lives.
Improving outcomes for women is at the heart of this Government’s agenda, and we’re making progress to deliver more choice, lower costs, and better healthcare.
Our initiatives so far include:
– 22 Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain clinics
– Listing endometriosis medication on the PBS for the first time in three decades, saving women hundreds of dollars each year
– Longer consultations covered by Medicare for specialist gynaecological care
It’s all part of Labor’s plan to boost women’s health, with an over half a billion-dollar investment announced.
We know there is more to do, but I’m proud to be a part of a female-majority Government that is driving change for women.
We will continue our efforts to support women affected by endometriosis.
