We’re back in Canberra with a BIG agenda for early education and care in 2026 💗

Every child deserves access to early learning no matter their postcode, or what their parents do.

From January 5, every child now has the right to 3 days of Child Care Subsidy.

The 3 Day Guarantee gives parents, particularly Mums, the security of care they need to get back to work when they’re ready.

And gives children the continuity they need to grow in early learning.

For First Nations children, it’s a 5 Day Guarantee, building strong foundations for families and communities.

This year, our billion dollar Building Early Education Fund will deliver more centres in more places.

We’ve already announced agreements with South Australia and Tasmania to build quality, not-for-profit services in areas that need investment. And more announcements are on the way.

At the same time, we’re strengthening the sector so that child safety is at the heart of every decision providers make.

This year, step by step, we’re building a universal early learning system for every child, no matter their postcode or what their parents do.

Because quality early learning gives children a great start, and helps families thrive.
