High quality and culturally safe early childhood education and care is crucial to Closing the Gap.
That’s why Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Controlled Organisations are so important in early learning.
It was inspiring to hear from Rachael Phillips, Director of Tamworth’s Birrelee Multifunctional Aboriginal Children’s Service this week.
Rachael attended Birrelee MACS as a child, has educated children there for 18 years, and now leads this quality, Exceeding NQS service.
With her own children attending too when they were little, Rachael and MACS are at the heart of the community.
Thanks for making the time to share your experiences with me this week, Rachael.
And big thanks to Catherine Liddle and the team at SNAICC – National Voice for our Children for everything you do to support First Nations-led early education and care.
