Education Ministers Meeting October 2025

Ministers for Early Education from across the nation met today to reaffirm our commitment to help keep children safe in quality early learning.

In August, we stood shoulder to shoulder and announced the biggest National Child Safety Package in the history of the sector.

Today, at our Education Ministers Meeting, we confirmed ongoing urgent implementation, including:

✔️Mandatory child safety training for educators and centre managers from early 2026,
✔️The first register of early educators ready for testing in December this year
✔️ And Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)‘s review of safe staffing practices, to be delivered in December.

This is a strong example of how governments can – and must – work together to advance reform.

And when it comes to keep children safe, Australians expect nothing less.
