Labor pledges $2 billion to back green aluminium

It’s been a BIG week for Australia’s green energy future – a future made in Australia. ✊🏼

And we’re another step closer with today’s Senate Inquiry into our plan to boost green hydrogen and critical minerals, made right here on our shores.

Our new Future Made in Australia Production Tax Credits will:

✅ Home-grow a vital green hydrogen sector
✅ Incentivise value-add to our rich critical mineral resources
✅ Boost Australia’s green metals export opportunities, including green steel

As Dr Fiona Simon CEO of the Australian Hydrogen Council said today, “We have an enormous opportunity in this country to create a vibrant hydrogen industry with both domestic and export uses.”

The Committee’s Report will be tabled on 31 January.
